There is a subtle narrative in the backdrop of all our lives…
…which goes unnoticed until something disrupts its flow.
We discuss this underlying story through two primary lenses. When life is going well, we refer to this narrative as our dreams because it is what inspires us and what we aspire to become. But when life deteriorates around us, we call it hope because there is an undertone of desperation, a need to change, the longing to find something greater than this moment. Reflecting on this, the fact that this narrative is what wakes us up in the morning emerges. It gives us a purpose for the day, a focal point, something to move towards which ultimately gives life to humanity. Without hope, we acquiesce into the backdrop of humanity, relegating ourselves to merely existing. So we believe if this is all there really is, there is no hope.
But here is our hope…
We are a people that believe we are not human beings having a spiritual experience but spiritual beings having a human experience. And that because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is a reconciliation of the two with our Creator. That because of this act of God’s love, we are able to be a community that lives by faith & is marked by love, bringing hope to a broken world. And so, as we move toward this end, we earnestly desire to be a people that live in such a way that we are constantly expanding each others’ imagination as to what God has done, is doing and longs to do within humanity. We believe that as we breathe life and love, not only into this city but into this world, we will begin to awaken the generations.
