This is a three part spoken word series that is collectively dubbed The Incarnate Series. It is meant to present the prophecy, context and birth of Christ in a context that postures the reader to look forward. To see that Christ, His Spirit, His movement, His story, will resonate for all eternity. That God dreamed of a day when humanity would once again be reconciled with Himself. That God moved as the catalyst to bring this dream into reality through the birth, death and resurrection of His Son. But to do so, cost Him. It didn’t just cost Him His life, it cost Him his love… For God so loved us, He endured separation from His Son while upon the cross. That His Son so loved us, He is willing to pour out the days of His life for our good. But not just that – but that He so earnestly desired that we once again be free as we once were in the Garden, that He is willing to endure a love that will go unrequited so long as humanity walks this earth. He is willing to do so because, though His heart breaks for every soul that remains shattered, He rejoices with every heart that moves from stone back to flesh. For in this moment, they will receive life that endures. They will live even if they die… And so I wrote this from the perspective that we should remain postured forward, always moving towards the dream God realized in His Son because we are privileged to be a part of it if we so choose.
Echoes of the Spirit…
- pt 1 of the Incarnate Series
I heard a prophet once say
There exists a reality beyond what we know today
Some may see it, some may know it
To the rest, our senses are deficient
As the result of a shattered existence
Fragmented souls creating resistance
So in love we need someone to describe the beauty
Of what God meant for all humanity
To live the life that creates hope within me
Illustrate knowledge not known empiracly
Cultivate desire that causes me to be
Unceasingly dreaming of how life is free
With the God who pursues us relentlessly
Because ever since the day we traded Divine affinity
For a lie, a moment of duplicity tied to a tree,
For some reason we were surprised,
When all it did was steal our hopes and dreams,
Bringing us to this point,
Where there is a convergence of themes.
Where God said, “Before you I have set,
The choice between life and the choice between death,
Choose as I had hoped. Choose as I had dreamed.
Cause if you choose life,
You will be with me for all eternity.
Oh, how I long for you to choose life.
To be with Me.
To once again mingle with Divinity,
Leaving behind this moment of duplicity.”
We just did not believe,
Or maybe we could not conceive,
That this was His very best,
All that He offered you and me.
We just could not see past the Tree.
And so God called to His people through a prophet,
With a vision in a night non-descript He whispered it
A night so reckless thoughts come witless
Crashing down around my feet
Along with the will to overcome defeat
But now the curtain falls and in a prophetic voice I sing
Echoes of the Spirit act as a harbinger of what He will bring
Hashem, my God, You illuminate my soul,
Speak truth into my life, make me whole,
I know now who You are despite all the scars
You are the endurance of the Saints
The beating of our hearts, giving us a name
You are the Sufferer, the Witness, our Catalyst
My God, the Lord is with us
in that day, the lamb will come to the lion,
lay down in his midst with dreams of Zion,
And He shall be known as strength
And He shall be known as wisdom,
With His words, He will bring understanding
With His life, He will be the Suffering King
Giving His all, His everything
Root of Jesse, line of David – your King
We will call Him Moshiach, my Savior,
Emmanuel, the Lord is with us,
(For He will be) light to burn away the darkness…===============================================================
A Light in the Darkness…
- pt 2 of the Incarnate SeriesCan you not hear it this night,
His words on my heart,
Declaring itself love tonight?
Bringing with it a movement, a quickness,
That will illuminate the darkness,
With sacrifice remove the sickness.
Rooted in righteousness, fortified in justice,
There will be no end to this,
A kingdom established in David.
Now the day has come, no time to waste,
Let the world make haste,
See a dream that has become flesh,
A voice calling from the wilderness,
With a heart that will not rest,
Crying out, why do you want to die?
Why forget the truth? Why believe a lie?
As a nation, God has blessed, take rest,
For One comes that is His best,
O Israel, is this not your prayer,
That God will send His Son, a Savior?
In His silence have we not called to Thee?
Pondered the mystery of how He might save you and me?
It is this moment that all prophets testified,
How God would redeem us from a lie.
A reconciliation, a redemption time where we no longer die.
Humanity’s prayer answered in the shape of man,
So when you ask, i will confess, i will not deny
That there comes one of whom Scripture testifies,
He will be Light, He will set the world to right.
It will cost Him so much, it will cost him everything,
But His heart is secure, His way is sound,
His love is unrelenting and in Him life is found
He will give His life so we might understand,
How God loves us so very much,
That not even Himself is free from sacrifice,
Shattering the lie that tied man to the ground,
Rescuing souls from a wisdom unsound,
On His shoulders will be the weight of peace,
Consecrating a time without cease,
In which He will increase,
And rid the world of sin’s disease.
It will be as a revolution or dissolution,
Shining light through the illusion,
That there is no hope for tomorrow,
Only silver and cold and sorrow,
For when He assumes His kingdom,
In our souls there will be freedom,
And forevermore we will become,
Who He longs for us to become…=========================================================
Continual Fire…
- pt 3 of the Incarnate Series

Listen, can’t you hear – There’s a voice calling through the years,
Culminating in a moment to allay all fears,
The synergy of temporal with eternity,
A life given of divine community.
A reconciliation of God with humanity.
A reckoning, a convergence, a finality,
To days spent outside God’s reality,
Which truly is a life of duplicity.
So tonight I close mine eyes beneath moonlit skies,
Hoping these moments are not a dream in disguise,
Cause inside me is a fire that burns continually,
Reminding me of the tragedy,
That is the history of humanity,
Showing me what I wish to no longer see,
The blackness of my soul, the essence of me.
But in this moment, with this decree,
The sky turned red over me,
A symphony of angels sings of Your glory,
Of a child born in infamy’s story,
Because the Caesar feared Your birth,
As it will be like none other to walk the earth,
For not even death can hold Thee.
And though our lives remain but a breath,
Your life overcomes all, even death,
Granting a peace without cease.
And this peace you long to give those with whom you are pleased,
Knowing in their hearts it is well received.
This is Your promise and passion and mission
The Word of God generating vision,
And so with this life, with this vision,
The Word does testify.
He comes to purify, to glorify,
To penetrate and consecrate,
A world once thought lost,
Now redeemed, His life the cost
These are the moments I forget the deception,
Of the serpent with whom is found sin’s inception.
Because I know in this instance,
God moves… closing the distance,
Between where my heart is and where His hope lies,
Releasing me from an eternity of slavery,
An indestructibile futility
Of a neverending pursuit of harmony,
Without a God to slay mine enemies.
And with but a word, He speaks what my heart denies,
That all I ever knew was limits and lies.
And with these words, with His heart,
Is the reconciliation of humanity,
To a God who longs only for them to be free…
Free from a life of sinful captivity.
To a place where we can never die,
In a relationship we can never leave,
Immersed in a love I can never deny.
It is the liberation of a mind in isolation,
Because in this imagination is a fascination,
Of a life inextricably intertwined,
Between the body, the soul and the mind
So we see His story is not an apparition, a tragedy,
But God’s dream that is so costly,
With wings to speak of, with a way to be,
A dream of hope, a dream that’s free,
A dream forever calling to me…
